Prisoners in at least 17 states are staging the largest and most ambitious prison strike in U.S. history in protest of labor exploitation and poor living conditions. The strike will run from August 20, (anniversary of the death of the Black Panther leader George Jackson at San Quentin) until September 9, the anniversary of the Attica Prison riots.
